Often it is little things that mean a lot in life.
There are a variety of ways you can help. Obviously one of those ways is through donations, since we’re completely donation driven. Over the years people have found a number of very creative ways to raise funds to keep us going. You can download a sponsor sheet from our website and collect five dollar pledges toward the five dollar mile. Or set up one of our small donation cans on your desk or near the coffee pot at the office. Put a change can somewhere in your house or car and drop your spare change in it at the end of a day. You’ll be surprised how fast it can add up. A couple of people have set up ways to collect empty beer and soda cans to be recycled.
We desperately need foster homes. Every day we get calls from people about animals in need. In order to help them we need good foster homes.
We also need people to do a variety of things. We’re always in need of people who understand computers, people to help keep up the mountains of laundry, and general cleaning.
Several times a week we need people to do errands. Sometimes it’s picking up microchips at Animal Control, or shopping for groceries or dog and cat food. Other times it may be picking up a pet for an owner without transportation for a clinic appointment.
There are items we always need as well. We always need newspaper. We need shredded paper for puppy bedding. We always need towels, blankets, sheets and comforters for bedding . And we always need laundry soap, dish soap, and cleaning supplies.
While we no longer have a large “thrift store”, we still accept donations and items that we cannot keep we pass on to another animal rescue thrift store. Plus, we do sell gently used pet items, so there is always a need for those. And if you know someone shopping for a great dog bed, or a crate or cage, send them to us. We may have exactly what they need.
Also, if you’re looking for a pet, or know someone who may be, send them in. we think our animals are absolutely the best, and once you get to know them you will too. Very soon we’ll have a section of the website operational where you’ll be able to download information sheets about some of our pets so you can post them at work or other creative places.
If you have skills, talents or ideas, email us and we’ll talk. If you’d like to get involved there’s always something you can do. And we’d love to have you.
